Northwest Ohio has seen a 5 percent decrease in bankruptcy filings this year compared to the previous year. Some speculate that it could be an improved employment situation and the last chance for some to get credit.
One expert has said that the drop this year after three consecutive years of increased filings shows that this is the turn around and the cycle will now be less filings. Not all agree with this theory. In 2010, the number of bankruptcy filings was at 8,461, which is 450 down from the previous year.
